Microsoft co-founder sells $1.3 bln in stock
WASHINGTON, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (MSFT - news) co-founder Paul Allen has sold over $1.3 billion worth of the software company's common shares since May and plans to unload over $91 million more, a recent regulatory filing showed.
From May 11 through August 6, Allen sold 13,080,000 shares for well over $1.3 billion, a Form 144 date-stamped August 14 with the Securities and Exchange Commission said.

The biggest one-day sale of shares in that period was on August 5 when he disposed of 3.027 million shares worth over $316 million, according to the Form 144.

Company officials use the form to show their intention to sell stock, though they are not obliged to do so.

And Allen said he planned to sell 878,000 shares worth over $91 million around August 10 through Dain Rauscher Inc of Minneapolis.

It was not immediately clear if the sale had been made.
