Dale,

I'm still in my reading stages and haven't started trading.

I've finished Trading for a Living by Elders, Using Technical Analysis by Pistolese, The Technical Analysis Course by Meyers, The Tao of Trading by Koppel, Hit and Run Trading and 5-day Momentum by Cooper, and I'm still working on Technical Analysis Eplained by Pring and Options as a Strategic Investment by McMillan. (I did the easy ones first!). It's too bad I didn't buy some AMZN before ordering all these books!

I think I'll try Cooper's methods first since they are simple, very specific setups for the one-day or few-day term.

All of this reading and the excellent comments from SI participants is helping me to arrive at the opinion that I'll never understand the crowd psychology well enough to predict price moves with certainty. It's clear that developing a solid trading discipline is the only way to build a skill to trade successfully. Without having a specific set of "rules" to follow, I can never correct my errors.

Now my challenge is to figure out how I'll get the time to make the transition from working to trading.
