Rand, the press release today convinced me even more about Maxam, a very conservative and matter of fact report. I have to attend to some family business this morning, but I will give the logic for my positive comments about Maxam later today. Today's release is consistent with my developing understanding about the desert sands. BTW, notice a new "technical section" on the Maxam webpage, nice.

Rand, when I started following the desert dirt's a couple of years ago, I was under the impression that the desert dirt metals were uniformly deposited. Comments from IPM and SI poster speculation suggested that the case. We even kidded about assaying western states children's sand boxes. Over time we have become aware that the precious metals aren't homogenous, but scattered and variable. IMO IPM failed in part because of their inability to understand that issue. CHIP has that problem. We can see from the Maxam magnetic survey, company PRs and other communication that Maxam is developing an improved understanding about its metal's distribution. Their new technical section is some proof for my conjecture. Simply, the desert dirt precious metals are deposited randomly, much as precious metals in hard rock mining. The technology sophistication Maxam is demonstrating is that it is getting a handle on how to identify, follow, and optimize metal location in their desert sands. An advantage Maxam has over hard rock is that it only needs to screen and mill, not break and mill rock. Comments?
