Thanks MRBIGAIR--but just for making sure we are right on this--we need confirm whether these like the MSFT case that Kerry points out
are not a split-corrected pricing and like MSFT were never on BB/OTC.
thanks,max

MRBIGAIR,

Your source is wrong, wrong, wrong on DELL. Again, I believe what you are seeing quoted is split-adjusted prices, not the actual price on any given day.

My daily price source is Power Investor for Windows, by Investor's Alliance and I am 100% current on the data/software. They show that DELL came public on 6/22/88 at a split-adjusted intra-day low of $.3957. The lowest split-adjusted intra-day low since then occurred on 1/29/90 at $.1875.

My source for DELL splits is Value Line, and I am 100% current on their data/software. They show that Dell had the following splits:

3 for 2 in 4/92
2 for 1 in 10/95
2 for 1 in 12/96
2 for 1 in 7/97
2 for 1 in 3/98

So readjusting the prices backwards, we can approximate (due to rounding errors) that DELL's lowest intra-day price on 6/22/88 was actually $9.50, hardly a penny stock in 1988. Their lowest point in history was on 1/29/90 where the price had actually gone as low as $4.50 a share, again not a penny stock (in those days). I doubt sincerely that DELL was ever an OTC-BB stock, and I doubt that they were ever non-reporting. However I have no independent data that will verify my doubts.

KJC

FYI:

MCI was never OTC:BB and it IPO'd at $10. Just another Internet legend.
