This is what I think of Joe Sobrans link.

messiah.org

And this reveals the attitude of a spiritual war and the truth behind the term the true Israel of God. Anything that promotes hatred and pride is not from Jesus the God of Israel.

Why isn't there a way to answer that post with honesty and intelligence? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I find it much more revealing of people when they do NOT answer a post that is addressed them, than when they do. Of course some posts are just insulting and should not be answered, but when someone does not answer a post because it is disturbing or the respondent has no logical answer, I think it is interesting to observe that.

<<Now imagine that a major newspaper had had a correspondent in Berlin
during roughly the same period who hobnobbed with Hitler, portrayed him in a flattering light, and denied that Jews were being mistreated - thereby not only concealing, but materially assisting the regime's persecution. Would that paper's respectability have been unimpaired several decades later?>>

That quote from Joe Sobran's essay shows just how out of touch with reality he really is, because that would describe many, of the correspondents of all the mainstream papers in Germany, the rest of Europe, and America. I read a little blurb the other day, buried deep in the paper, that America is about to release a lot of its World War II era documents which deal with our relationships and our policies. The little article made the statement that much of what is revealed would be disturbing to Americans. There was much, much more appeasement, and cooperation, going on than we could ever imagine, and I think it will be very painful when it comes out.

Incidentally, I have had many conversations with Jews who do not believe that Israel should exist. Does everyone know that the state of Israel is supported by only about four countries in the whole world, or realize that our defense of it is at the core of all the terrorist bombings we have experienced? There is a huge difference between knowing and liking Jews, and having relationships with them, and being a Zionist. Even within Israel, there are Jewish human rights organizations adamantly against the current political course, who document every human rights abuse against the Palestinians.

So, as usual, the reality is much, much more complicated than you think it is, Emile. And Nancy is absolutely right to post that url which shows that many conservative, militia-type Christians hate Jews and are just as bad as the Nazis were. No group of people is entirely right, or entirely wrong. It is fair to criticize the Zionists when they act as their oppressors did, but it is important to separate out bad behavior from the basic right to exist.
