I don't know that MRVC ever WAS a supplier of GE to INTC, for them to be "dropped".

I know that the INTC 510 and 550 switches still use MRVC ASICs in them for 10/100 Ethernet ports. This was recently verified by Jack Colton, who ordered the INTC boxes, then looked at the chips inside.

MRVC has been moving away from OEMs to a direct sales model. I doubt that this (assuming it to be true) will have any noticeable effect on future earnings.

I thought INTC had decided to produce most of their own networking gear about the time the Compac bought Digital Equipment. If you can pinpoint that time frame & search under previous MRVC posts that might be a good place to look. I thought it was discused here but am not certain.

INTC owns stock in both MRVC & XIRC . XIRC has been a really strong stock lately, Perhaps there is speculation that INTC might be interested in buying XIRC. Somewhere it was mentioned that INTC was looking to pick up a networking company.

Hey lets start a MRVC rumor to flush out the shorts a bit.
Naw , that would be cheating . Right ?
