Western Digital reportedly lays off 41 at disk drive plant

SINGAPORE (AFX-ASIA) - Western Digital has laid off 41 employees at its
disk drive manufacturing plant in Tuas, the Business Times quoted a company
spokeswoman as saying.
"Our high-end (disk) drive growth is expected to flatten in the next few
quarters. We had to make a small adjustment in the workforce to fit the
current business model," she said.
In May, Western Digital laid off 439 employees at its desktop disk drive
manufacturing facility in Chai Chee.
