Michael,

<<Which really means, don't talk about things I strongly disagree with.>>

I'm obviously violating that restriction, but at least I got the discussion off religion. A parting shot, though:

Many of us get frustrated with the likes of Emile because we're trying to discuss religion. This is impossible with true believers of any stripe. They simply can't imagine the notion that other people's beliefs are worth considering, and that makes for a pretty poor discussion.

Steve

Michael, I think that if you look back you will find that Christine listed several Bible quotes that you never hear in church, and that I added to them. It is curious that you view quoting the Bible as anti-Christian. I think that we are challenging the Bible as the good book of morality. If you take it personally, I can't help that. I am a believer in Evolution, but I do not view somebody's questioning of Evolution as a personal attack on me. As I have said before, if the Bible is the word of god, then it won't be bothered by a challenge by a mere mortal like me. If it is mythology, which I think it is, it's validity deserves to be challenged.

If you look back on my posts on the Holocaust, you will find that they were a response to columnist Jeff Jacoby's editorial, carried in many papers, that tried to put the blame for the Holocaust on the lack of belief in god. Sorry, but I will not let such incorrect statements go unchallenged. Hitler's mentor was Martin Luther, and if you care to research it, you will find many of Hitler's ideas on the hatred of Jews paralleled those of Luther, who despised them, and said so openly.

If you find this kind of factual information anti-Christian, too bad, because there will be more in the future.

By the way, I'm not going to say anything about the latest bombing in Ireland. It appears to be the act of an individual or small group, unlike the Crusades.
