Christine, we've actually had many lengthy discussions and been complimentary to moving thinking in the same direction on many occasions though I haven't posted here in some time.

I wouldn't by any stretch consider my comments vehement, indeed they are tame to other arguments against invasion of privacy issues of which individual tracking by dedicated organizations on the net is only a comparatively benign problem.

The comments were on commercial tracking of individual use and had nothing to do with public forums like this. I'm sure you would be most surprized to find a for sale accumulative psychological profile on everyone who accesses SI including their names, addresses and telephone numbers ( Note: I don't believe this is true and is suggested only for argument).

Each of us who posts here, on the other hand, must be aware that what we say is essentially public. It is the unauthorized tracking and documenting of individual net use which the NYTimes article refers to that I strongly object to.
