Trying to get a handle still on the thought of nothing after death and how empty a feeling that must leave someone with who loses a loved one.
For those like myself who believe in God and the bible as His word, we are told God knows us even from our mothers womb.
Also that either way, whether we have believed God or not, life will continue after death. One way is good the other way is bad. An example of how bad "better that that man had never been born". Mark 14:21

So I suppose that last statement supports your thought about before birth.
