Separately, Ciena acknowledged an error in a Tellabs registration
statement that contained terms of the acquisition. Instead of stating Ciena's
gross profit, the line item contains the company's costs of goods sold for
the six months ended April 30 and the comparable year-earlier period --
thereby understating the company's earnings. "It was an innocent mistake,"
said Eric Georgatos, Ciena's general counsel.

I'm confused. Earnings were "understated"? Anyone?

Question re venture with Cisco.

After all the fanfare with which Cisco and Ciena announced their venture to integrate Ciena's DWDM into Cisco's switches, does anyone know why this is not yet generating any revenue for Ciena? Are revenues expected soon? Nettles didn't say anything about the Cisco venture in his conference call remarks last week. I fear that this venture has been scrapped because of some conflict between Cisco and TLAB. Is that possible?
