All EYES on Dell.Too much burden for a 'li'le-old company down in Austin??

Tweaker:

It seems like all eyes are now focused on DELL and people are demanding DELL.

1) Save the country from 'Bubba',Monica and Heil Ken (Starr) & the
'moral majority' (or are they the minority???)
2) Save the market from the evil machinations of crony capitalists
in S.E Asia,Japan and Russia.

Can DELL do it or can't they??? that is the question...stay tuned.

Earnings,

Tweaker,

re your I know there are legal ways to move things around and make the books look good.

Why don't we leave that kind of manipulation to E. Pfeiffer and his company? I'll just be satisfied if DELL moves product to make the books look good.

There are some serious downsides to 'moving things around'. 1) First, you are borrowing from the future earnings, so that they are in a very real sense hostage to continued superior performance. 2) Next, you are likely to eventually reach a point where your report retains no recognizable relationship to reality, and might even be considered fraudulent. 3) Perhaps at least as important a factor is that this practice can seriously impact your management team's reputation for ethical and honest dealing with the public and their shareholders. In DELL's case this is a very real, though intangible asset; one we should treasure.

Did you catch Joe Kernan's comment that Bill F. had the hair to be a piano player?

DELLish, 3.

Tweaker, in the mist of all this Clinton, Asia, Russia "stuff",
CNBC reporter said that the market was awaiting Dell's earnings report. How would you like to be MD at this time?...the future of the world is in his hands. <ggg> And, only 33 years old. If he has blow out earnings (of course, on the upside), 2:1 split, and great forward looking statements...I vote that we ask him to run for President of these United States. (Does he have to be 35 years old to qualify for the office?) Hell, we will change the constitution so he can run.

Clinton's future will be decided within a few hours, and ours within the next several hours...interesting times that we live in.

Good luck to all of us...
