vladimir--

you make a good point, but my feeling on the issue is quite simple:

1) WSTL was undercut on several key contracts. in at least one of these, the company that elected not to use WSTL equipment may be changing its mind.
2) RBOCs are going slow because they dont want to alienate customers with bad service up front, and they dont want to share the equipment they have to buy. the problem, IMHO, is that the FCC has not acted swiftly enough (they have been too concerned with wireless auctions) and that congress in the telecom act of 1996 did a quick and dirty job of reform without really looking at the impact.

good luck to all,
trey

Vlad

fact # 1

Rboc are making trucks full of money have been and will for a long time (people you say that they w'ont remind me of the same idiots you counted ibm mainframes out in the eighties .. look where they are today )

Fact #2
Cable company are barely keeping afloat..

Why vlad ask yourself why!!!

because the infrastructure for two copper wire has been in construction since the 1800's its built ..

Cable just got started and it will take them a long time and alot of bucks to accomplish what the telco's have ..

Asdl is the leverage that the telco's will need to buy them time to finish the transformation from being a telephone company to a full service digital company.

Check out the purchases the telcos have made in 18 months all data processing service companies

Westell will buy them time...........
