Are you sure? I think listed stocks do trade pre- and after market.

This is what I found after market closed today.

LU traded at 88 3/8 at 16:25 (all EST) down from the close of 88 5/8

AOL traded at 111 1/16 at 16:16 down from the close of 111 5/16

CPQ traded at 36 13/16 up from the close of 36 3/16

Listed stocks defintly do trade before and after hours.
