DELLwatch from thestreet.com: excerpt from Gary B. Smith's column: Technician's Take: Doom and Gloom, Charted

First up is Dell (DELL:Nasdaq). I never understood the appeal here, but it
doesn't matter: Dell is a benchmark, and if this goes, well, uh-oh.

With charts like this, the first thing you want to do is stretch out your horizon
a bit. When I'm asked about certain stocks on my chats, I sometimes say
they're untradable. But, what I really mean is they're untradable for me.
Remember, my horizon is about seven days or so. But that's certainly not
typical, so in looking at Dell as a long-term position, I have to take a
longer perspective.

And in doing that, you can see that Dell has a nice solid trend line that
starts at the beginning of 1996 and is not even close to being broached.
Naturally, every day the "danger zone" changes, but for now, Dell looks
safe all the way down to 82. So, no problems with this stock, and even with
a 20-point drop, I still wouldn't be worried.
