Zulu's competition generally isn't involved in providing software downloads, nor is Zulu, which makes it a mystery why they are involved with this in the first place.

Well-designed sites do provide you with something useful to do while doing long downloads, though. A well-designed site will present installation instructions, description of features, etc. at this time. A poorly-designed site may simply have a "back" or "home" link.

The important point, though, is that there IS NO Zulu technology here. It's browser technology, which is well-understood and not under their control. It's not an issue of technology at all, but simple common sense in the design of web pages - specfically as relates to the flow.
It's nothing more than thinking about what the user does next after asking for the download, and any good site has taken that into consideration.
