I'm not defending or attacking Big Dog because listening to all concerned talk about the progress, I must admit that I got a bit excited, also. I know that the press release earlier this month rather sailed right past me, but when the three men I talked to explained it, I developed the feeling that it meant one heck of a lot more than I had thought it meant.

As to a "CURE" for anything, if I understand correctly, cygs is not into the "CURING" business, instead is more like an expeditor ... I like the example that was again repeated to me this morning ... if this was the space exploration business, cygs does not make the sattellite, but provides the rocket to launch it with. I had forgotten being told that previously and must confess that after starting on this thread, had lost sight of that fact. From the posting, I'm not the only one that was traveling down the "cure-canal" erroneously.

I do not know what Big Dog was told, and will not presume to second-guess anyone ... if, and I repeat IF, cygs is able to use the televector to get the anti-sense therapies into sick cells and reverse their decay, etc, then it will be of the first magnitude. When (and IF) that announcement comes someday, I'll be more excited than Big Dog was ... but for the time being, I'm just holding in.

I still hope that someone on the thread with a background suitable to discuss the technology at a higher level than I will step up and talk to the folks at cygs and then become an unofficial emissary between them and us ... or something like that.

Regret that I just can't fill the latter role,

Hogger

Sorry Jeff but I have to refresh your memory about that one. Big Dog did say later on that is was only speculating when he said that the news was going to be worthy of a presidential comment and that he had no knowledge of what the news was going to be (he only knew when it was going to come out). In other words he did not hype the news he hyped period.
