Gross margins for DELL will be higher since they did not compete head to head with Compaq's aggressive price cuts this past quarter even though component prices were tanking. But that is not a winning strategy since they cannot keep on letting CPQ get more market share to keep margins up to please Wall Street. Time will tell how Dell will push this pressure from Compaq off specially since now Compaq PCs cost less and have great service bundled (from DEC).

Weighting more on CPQ with profits from DELL.
