Eric, they buy them back because they cannot think what better to do with them and they want to make sure there is no dilution effect. There is no real rational reason for it. If there is a decline the whole market will fall and that spent cash will vanish. Kept it could be used to better advantage. Does Intel borrow for fabs?, or is it all self made $$.
