I can't absolutely clarify the situation; I haven't seen the docs. But it's said, by Jack among others, that Tow wanted his land back and got it, not unreasonably preferring it to 50M shares of MTEI restricted stock. It's also been rumored that the land in question was never transferred from Tow's ownership to MTEI's, which, of course, would have made it quite easy for him to reclaim. But that's a can of worms I'd really rather not open just now.... None of this is in any way authoritative; just rumor.
