Could it be the Democrats that bring him down?

Ponder this. It appears that Republican strategy is to keep a lame duck Clinton in power for the remainder of his term. Oren Hatch sounded like a broken record on Meet the Press yesterday spinning that line: "the American people can forgive him and allow him to finish out his term and then send him home".

So what's the Democratic strategy. From watching Lanny Davis and Leon Panetta, and finding virtually no other Democrats to come forward, I would wager that they might take the following strategy.

Take the moral high ground away from the republicans ask for him to resign. Write off the fall elections, and get Gore in there with a two year head start on taking the Whitehouse and both houses in 2000. This would be the republicans worst fear and is precisly why it would probably be the best strategy for the Dems. The republicans have no leadership, no central issue. The dems could gain from this.

I can't believe your a native born Texican. What happened to you? You surely weren't brought up to be a defender of a sexual leach. What kind of logic is this? Clinton's lie was not a lie because he wasn't lying(down I suppose). Clinton has taken 2 vows. Maybe he had some strange marriage vow that said he would cling to his wife until he left the chapel. If he will not keep those vows, why do you think he will keep the Presidential vows. Uphold the constitution etc.. The man will say ANYTHING that sounds good at the time. He only thinks in terms of the moment at hand.

Why has he suddenly developed a conscience? He was only trying to protect his family and Monica. Right. Why did he not think of them during(or before) the affair? You know as well as I do that the only reason he said all that protection stuff was because HE GOT CAUGHT! If he really cared about his family, he wouldn't have been doing it to begin with.

He will do it again. Not that anyone cares. Except myself and a few others. I do have morals. If you don't like people saying that, I'm sorry. Someone has to say it. If we all progress to immorality, you won't be able to have this debate. Go ahead, poopoo away.

I forget, what was the scandal that Gary Hart was involved in? Wasn't he drummed from the primaries for what he did?

We'll see what happens next.

Michelle,

Good prediction on what he'd say.

I wonder if all the GOP guys on
the thread are going to go berserk with frustration.
