3, If the whisper comes from us on SI, send me an E-mail with the whisper from SI and the method used to calculate it.

I won't post your E-mail until after earnings are released and only if you want me to.

They can get the whisper from SI, I post it every time as I will this time.

It will be broadcasted on CNBC so everyone with a cable connection will know it.

They read it from SI, it doesn't originate here.

P.S. I did an interview for an article in the July Money magazine on whisper numbers for Dell in May.

Pat

Bachman: I do however believe any fluctuations in stock price based on either beating or not beating the whisper number is a short term phenomenon at best particularly in the case of good solid companies like Dell perhaps.

Bachman & Pat I fully agree that whispers are generated on this thread.

So we play a game and shoot ourselves in the foot, raising the expectations bar, so Dell drops and we're the losers. Expensive fun, we should stop.

No criticism of you, Pat, but hopefully you'll listen to 3 and accept the evidence. It's a lot of work for you, and it isn't worth the risk, Pat.

In WW2 the saying was "Loose lips sink ships." Let's not torpedo the good ship Dell.

JBN3,

whispers.. whether generated here are elsewhere has zero effect overall on the stock when you look at it long term. Do you think the stock would have skyrocketed before earnings without the whisper ? One need to take both pro and con's.... can't have it just one way.

so, does this mean that we should start "whispering"??

I'm catching up on over 1600 posts in 4 days. Did something happen while I was gone? Are we up or down?
