David, in my view, you have broached one of the great conundrums
of the ages. Mr. BowTie has done nothing but reinforce his seem-
ing irrelevance to serious investors, to the financial community, and
to the markets themselves with every appearance on CNBC-TV or
each visitation to the Barron's Roundtable. BowTie tells us there was
a time when George Soros considered him indispensable. Now, Bow-
Tie seems as disposable as last week's newspaper. Why on earth the
media still considers his failed perspectives, wacky illiquid investment
picks, and mostly unfulfilled predictions to be of sufficient merit to
warrant precious air time or column space is nothing less than a
Sphinxian mystery. Maybe it's the bow tie.
