In looking at the system information displayed by the software on a real IMac, for the HDD Vendor, it displays, "WDC (for Apple)", the serial number of the HDD in this specific IMac began with WD-WM411...

Unless, Quantum has started using WDC as its Vendor Code and has decided to begin its product serial numbers with the letters "WD",
I believe its safe to conclude that Western Digital manufactured the drive that went into this IMac.

I fully expect that this business will help WDC's earnings and that, ultimately, this will be factored into WDC's stock price.

Anybody want to run around the various retailers selling IMacs to see if they can find a machine with anybody else's HardDrive?

FWIW,
Ian.
