I dont know if you were aware that Qcom has liscenced(there we go again) Palm pilot as basis for future smart phone. These smart phones will be mini internet providers, that will replace many laptop needs.
They will run at high access speed with 3G digital standard. Nokia, Erickson are also creating their own smartphones. Imagine having a portable network link to your office were ever you go connected at equivilent desktop modem speeds! Think of the business applications! You can shop on your comute via the internet as you comute to work, Read the newspaper, etc etc etc. It is areally exciting element to Cell phones. I agree that the Palm pilot know is a glorified Casio. I think though this will bring 3com into another avenue of business. Their stock is also curently quite reasonable valued and is moving in a computer box upcycle
