<Looks like Clinton blew it..> ... actually I think it was Monica that blew it.

The industry continues to consolidate with EA picking up Westwood. I hope there is something left for THQ to buy. (g)

I made a comment a while back (it may have been in a private message) that the average age for users of game consoles would begin to come down. Much of the age factor has to do with the design of the games themselves. Make a game for older children or adults, and they will be the users. Witness this analysis from the article discussing the Rugrats game :

>>The Rugrats game could be a new direction for Sony and the PlayStation as they go after a younger audience traditionally held by Nintendo<<

It appears that the game and console makers are finally figuring this out. They may be beginning to realize that by designing and making games and systems for children all the way to very early ages, they can reap the rewards of users along the whole age spectrum. If Sony (and all developers) were to grab the attention of young children with new games, and better yet developmental games, they could sell all their earlier titles, all these new titles, and more consoles to boot.

Look for a lot more games to come along that target younger audiences; the first drippings are about to drip off the steak and into the coals, and we all know how good that smells. When Rugrats delivers, there will be a large shift into this arena. Time to let the kiddies play with the Playstation big boys & girls ...

Rugrats is coming, that alone has me laughing :o)

Regards, JB

P.S. There is truth to the saying "sometimes you don't truly appreciate what you have until it's gone". I understand your question s.r!
