Agree completely. However, my cable provider has strewn fiber-optic throughout N. VA, but I'm only getting 256K+ capacity.

But hey, I'm not complaining because it beats the socks off of 28-56K.

And part of the reason that the bandwidth is being reduced probably involves deliberate "choking" at the Server side, in order to reduce the size of individual "server calls". This would prevent someone from hogging the entire serve capacity.

Btw, Nice find on the homestead. One must have both privacy and massive throughput. It looks like you have found both.
