It would be interesting to see how the socket 470 will make inroad against the SS7. The SS7 infrastructure is strong and now support up to 133MHz FSB. Just about every vendor has one. The question I have is that how many socket 470 CPU does Intel expect to sell? More than slot 1? If that was the case then it would be very interesting. If it is small then it would be a niche market. All the MB makers would have to retool to make a socket 470 MB just for the Mendocino.
