Truman, A young friend called me last night to discuss her disgust over Clinton and his choosing this time to come clean - i.e. he got caught with evidence that was impossible to deny, DNA. Anyway, she made her first stock purchase a few weeks back on my advice - Intel at $68 - and was wondering how it could go up so much in the face of Floods and possible currency devaluation in her homeland, Russian mess, Japan mess, etc. etc.? The clarity came to me then to answer "where else do you put your money but in safe havens? Right now, these are companies that can grow earnings above inflation and most are based in the USA." (some are in Europe which explains Europe's performance as well).
