IBM broken hearted - Radio Shack selling more Compacts than phones

On the PC front, it looks like IBM avoided "really big" trouble when it hired back Mike Braun for his AAPL marketing expertise:

" In July, IBM named Michael Braun general manager of the
PC division, replacing James Firestone. Bartlett left his
position to take over as vice president of IBM consumer
solutions and strategy. Moving into his spot is Ellen Reid
Smith, who was IBM's vice president of relationship marketing. "

Can't be overlooked that IBM shares some measure of AAPL's iMAC success by providing the iMAC with the 233mz PowerPC which brings tears to the eyes of an exhausted , over-heated INTC 400 mz CPU .

Jules , I'm puzzled why IBM would ever want to fall back to INTC CPU relics for its mainframes when it produces superior PowerPC CPUs .
