Among the other outlandish comments, I found this interesting that no commentator has mentioned this statement:

In addition, I had real and serious concerns about an independent counsel
investigation that began with private business dealings 20 years ago,
dealings, I might add, about which an independent federal agency found no
evidence of any wrongdoing by me or my wife over two years ago.


I seem to recall that this was conducted by either the RTC or the FDIC (hardly "independent") but there was some type of qualifier about finding no wrongdoing. Do any of you recall the details?

He did not apologize last night. Why? Because he was not sorry for what he did. He just "regrets" getting caught and he's pissed that the legal process exposed his deceit. Pathetic!
