Mark,

The original manuscripts were written in a different language, sometimes it is necessary to use certain vehicles in our language to relay the original point because there may not be the exact words in our language. Think of transalating Shakespear into Chinese, some of the meaning with the words and context might be lost without using certain vehicle in Chinese to highlight a point.

My belief of in 'the image and likeness of God' refers back to one of our initial conversations. I believe it refers to our being, physical and emotional. I believe that our physical form is the form of God and that He has emotions (in perfection) and those emotions have been passed on to us. Again, remember that I believe we can have emotions without sinning or being moody - that is the kind of emotions I believe God has.

I honestly like your approach to me in that you asked me my opinion and not for Scripture. I feel that many Christians can quote Scripture much better than I but have failed to do several things with it:

1. Understand it.
2. Understand it in the context of their lives.
3. Apply it.

Your question really gets to what I think, not what Scripture says.

Hopefully, what I think will be in harmony with Scripture. If it is not, then my thinking is wrong. Thanks for the challenge.

Speak with you soon.

Bob
