thanks henry. have to admit i was a little nervous when i pulled the trigger yesterday and it feels good to have bear stearns reaffirm the buy, especially after they note the price drop and their efforts to find a fundamental reason.

the statement of "we can find no evidence for the drop in price" is analyst spin for "We don't have a clue as to why you are losing money". For a professor who is trained to make conclusions on detailed analysis of scientific data after meticulous research, I find is very interesting that you take as fact what the over paid analyst say about a company that you are emotionally and financially attached to.

And so the knee jerk posters out there don't get the wrong idea, I'm still convinced that LGND will "eventually" move up once it gets it's drugs approved, but the company still has a very rocky road ahead of it.

Henry,

Second half highlights:
Potential Panretin Topical approval - Nov
Potential ONTAK approval - Dec
LLY developmental decision on Targretin & RXRs - Dec
Outlicense of non-US and non-European rights
Other collaborations

I find it very interesting that Bear Stearns has pushed expectation of Ontak approval to December.

J.D.

Good morning, and thank you for the Bear St. report! Nice to see others still believe :-)! No, I'm not excited over $9, but yes, I do like it better than 7. I see a lot more upside potential than down from these levels. The second half of 98 will be interesting for holders of LGND. I would appreciate if you would clear something up for me. Are there posters here who are intentionally posting blank messages to other posters? If so, I find this the absolute most juvenile thing I have yet witnessed on the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why purposely waste others time?? Henry, I can see posting bullish, bearish, funny, or sarcastic remarks at times, but a blank message?????????

<Bear Stearns just reiterated its BUY (highest rating) on LGND today>

This sure is a strange buy recomendation:

3Q revised from -.10 cents to -.21 cents 110% decrease.
4Q revised from +.03 to -.02 cents 167% decrease.
Loss for year from -.89 cents to $-1.05 18% decrease

They revise the estimates way downward and then they say they can find no evidence why the stock went down. What did they base their downward estimates on?

Also said ONTAK approval by Dec? Henry your sources said by Sep is this another delay?
