Eric. RE: GUI's and such. Microsoft invented the internet, the browser and tpc/ip, long before netscape came along or UNIX for that matter. <ggg> PS: Microsoft may have borrowed a few things from Apple, but Apple didn't learn a thing about marketing from anyone. Eric.

Drag and Drop was actually invented in Ireland around 1742. A man would enter a pub and sit at the bar. A rich flavored ale would be placed in front of him. He would reach out, drag it across the bar and drop some into his mouth. After several of these delicious pints the imbiber would have a tendency to splash some onto his shirt. Hence the invention of the splash screen. The first ones were dull and utilitarian, but later version were intricately carved and would collect the ale back into the properly placed glass. Yes it needed to be placed on the Start spot. jb

Another great example of why you are a religious fanatic and NOT AN HISTORIAN. Otto Daimler is generally acknowledged as the inventor of the automobile - perhaps 10 or 15 years before Ford made his first car. Re" Have you see the ALTO? The interface and API bears little resemblance to our operating system today" XEROX Parc invented the GUI, Pull down menus and implemented Doug Engelbart's mouse as a pointing device.
