I would think that Greenspan's portfolio should be in a blind trust fairly soon again. I find it hard to believe that he would be allowed to stay fully in bonds and then do all he can to preserve their worth by talking down the market to prevent signs of inflation, etc. Conflict of interest is too huge. Are you sure about this WSJ stuff?

Maybe it is just temporary until they join their assets (he and Andrea) and then have them go back into a blind trust?

Better idea is he should turn the blind trust over to the BJ Group to manage then LIsten on Sat and Sun on what to do with margin requirements!

regards
Kirk out

Lars: <Dr. Greenspeak doesn't invest in stocks to avoid conflicts of interests>

Seems like a "conflict of interest" would still exist, just in a different area. Doesn't Alan now have a vested interest in keeping interest rates as high as possible so his Treasury Bills/Note portfolio interest income is maximized?

Maybe he should invest in Russian Rubles :-))

** Mindless Banter ** Lars: As you gather this is a private matter between you and me which is why I have chosen this private forum. This message is code encrypted with the best technology the US government can offer and nobody but you and I will ever see this post.

Our pathetic effort to keep this thread on the hot list is failing. Despite our catalog offering of great prizes for threaders, we have slipped to fourth place as I write and we are sandwiched between "Clinton's Scandals: Is this corruption the worst ever?" and "Did Slick Boink Monica?" I am not sure I like the position we are in and I suggest we upgrade our prizes so as to propel this thread above this tawdry tale.

We must endeavor to put this private matter behind us and go on with the business of the country and this thread as we owe it to our families and our children and their respective inheritances. Let's get on with it!
