I don't think LU would touch COMS. The business model (widget-ware) is not consistent with LU and carriers. Furthermore COMS does nothing to improve LU's position in competing against CSCO in the upcoming covergence wars. No, I suspect ASND (perhaps FORE+XYLN) are the only sound choices for LU to make.

LU might buy COMS but I doubt it. (I have an interest in COMS)
Coms is specializing at the edge of the network, although they have made some stabs at the core.

INTC does not need COMS to get at the edge. Technology is converging very fast and only the fast evolvers will survive.

Cisco's strength is it's sheer size and percent holding in the core. It will be virtually impossible to knock them off for at least the next 4-5 years!
