I guess the street. Who cares if Zacks or first call says vivus should show a profit in the 3rd Q, as long as vivus admits that they screw up, who cares????

<< They could have been better, but they've done certain things very well. Give the guys a break.>>

EyeMike,

Give us a break. The management team running this company is is on par with THE THREE STOOGES.

The really sad part is that they don't even realize their incompetence and we investors have suffered.
Did you read the 10Q where they are concerned that since they no longer have a marketing arm what might happen.
<<There can be no assurance that the Company will partner with a major pharmaceutical company to market, distribute and sell MUSE, or that such a partnership would be on reasonable terms. Further, there can be no assurance that such a partner will be able to successfully market, distribute and sell MUSE. Should the Company establish such a relationship, the Company's U.S. marketing efforts will depend substantially on the partner's efforts. The partner may have other commitments and may not commit the necessary resources to effectively market, distribute and sell the Company's products. If the Company cannot establish such a relationship, it will have to develop an alternative strategy for marketing, distribution and selling its products in the U.S.>>

How stupid must one be to eliminate your marketing dept and not have a signed agreement in place. Leland is a absolute moron.

Mike, Yes I know stock prices reflect the perceived future direction of the company rather than past or present circumstances. Many a time we have seen high flying companies drop on an appearently excellent earnings number because it is believed all the good news is out or a down and out stock rise on a massively negative earnings number because it is felt all the bad news is out. It is based on the company's statements (or analysts or funds) of the future direction of the company.

As to 5 years from now they gain control of the sales force if they wish, that is a positive in the bank. However, I only see it as a footnote to any upward bias for the stock in the next year or 2.
