LindyBill:

Been tracking the whole SFA/CRM/CIS market for a while. It gets a little confusing to pick the juggernaut. Apps like SEBL are SFA centric with HelpDesk Addons. VNTV is more of a help desk solution with some simple SFA additions. The winner is who merges the two first/best. IBM's entry clouds it up a bit as well. I still think SEBL has the best management of the bunch.

Back to SAP: Is everyone a littler happier now? <g>

Multiple studies have shown that sector selection is more important than stock selection. Sectors can be defined by market segment as well as by size. Mr. Market just doesn't want small caps now, and SEBL segment has been damaged by poor Vantive results. This creates doubts about whether the problems are specific to Vantive or will spill over to SEBL. Also there are worries that SAP will somehow win the space overnight. Also there have been reports of a high percentage of failures in front office automation. Trying to automate salesmen in particular is like herding cats.
IMHO, all of the worries specific to SEBL are misplaced, and investing at these levels will eventually be very profitable. Patience will be needed to wait for smaller cap companies to come back in favor, especially in a market dominated by institutions. Enough good news and/or publicity will do it.
