My point was simply that we are a lot more concerned

about presentation and availability of information than we are about 'warehousing' it or organizing it. We are also a lot more concerned about ease of use and access bandwith. Interconnectedness. Do you know of ANY major companies that don't already have a primary vendor of relational databases? I don't. There are a lot more decisions being made about Web Servers and Web tool sets though. Just a means of providing 'access' to each other and our respective data. The easier we can get at it, the more we like it and each other.

Regarding Data Warehousing in general -- I've always hated the term 'Data Warehouse'. I hated it when I used to sell it and I hate it now. It was a marketing term that got some mileage in the early to mid-90's, but now even MSFT is giving them away. That is the death knell for data warehousing as far as I am concerned. Rest in peace.
