Kathleen:
Have been up to my ears in work for a couple of weeks (raising a small bear fund with a pal).
Thanks for the link and apologize for the delayed response.

It's been a long wait for the Darth Vader fraternity, but finally, the market is awakening to both the size and the ferocity of the deflationary wave that is inundating the globe. The MB thread has been my favourite hangout because a number of its participants have recognized the signs of the approaching wave, and have not been reluctant to discuss it. When I think back over the last year and the amount of denial this market has generated, it makes me wonder at just how gullible many people can be.

Yesterday wiped out many hundreds of billions of dollars of wealth. More will be destroyed in the ensuing weeks. I expect the U.S. economy to tank very quickly now, as the frenetic borrow-then-buy cycle is being cratered by this stock market action. Already the lay-offs and plant closings are becoming common in the tech sector and it will not take long to spread. Time for the mattresses to be placed against the doors.

Best, Earlie
