Here's a question. I have lvl 2 access so I see the action and have a time/sales ticker for every print in a selected stock on my screen.

Often I will see a large print, sometimes an odd amount, print outside of the spread. After a pause, sometimes with trading, I will then see another trade of the same amount at a price indicating it had gone through in the other direction.

It strikes me as a spoof print, meant to get people to jump onto what looks like a high volume interest i.e. big seller/big buyer. Is it? And where are these large prints being generated?

I would love some insight into this. I am fairly new to SI so forgive me if it has been addressed before.
