Please don't misconstrue my comments as an endorsement of Al Gore.

It would however, be a good way to test drive him for a year.

Is this a frightful proposition for the Democrats? I wonder?

We could be pleasantly surprised, or his hopes in 2000 dashed.

After this, we need something to restore faith in the integrity of government and trust in the Presidency. From what I can see, Gen. Colin Powell is the only person on the horizon with the statute and credibility to step forward and cleanse the Agean swamp. At the times this country really needs a great leader, somehow the right person always emerges. What can we do to encourage Powell to step forward this time?
