On a side note about Matrox - just got a Matrox Millenium G200 for K6-2 300. The video chip has a heat sink on it and it still got too hot to touch. Could not run the system at 112x3 until I put a fan on the heat sink. However, putting the fan on it cost me one PCI slot. Guess that's why the Matrox board have hole predrilled for fan but came with no fan.

Must be a 0.35um chip. That chip really needs to be 0.25um. I think the Savage 3D at 0.25um, if they had been able to ship early August instead of waiting for silicon rev, would have been a real winner for SIII stock.

Speaking of MII 300

I bot one today for $78 and plugged it in my VX Pro - II el cheapo mother board. The Bios identified it as a PR 266. I ran puzzle in .44 sec. PR 200 typically runs in .65 sec. A pentium runs in 1.35sec for comparison, so the chip is running as a PR300 + .
