Many people want to feel on top and insist that their view is true. This leads many to ignore parts of scripture that would point out their error. This is why we must take all of scripture into account and let scripture interpret scripture. The first half of your post is very encouraging to me. Don't sweat the small stuff. God loves you and has made a way for you to come home to him. Open the door wide and you will see the truth of this. We will then have eternity to debate the finer points of His revelation. Dear Mark, I still understand the Word of God to be a light that shines in the hearts of all people. What you see is basically what is in their hearts being revealed by how they see what God said. In many areas it says we are being refined like Gold in the fire. ALan is a jeweler and I have seen this process and understand the terminology some from my observations of riding the Gold of impurities by breaking it down to let the impurities come out. The Word of God has traps for the proud and arrogant and even stumbling blocks for us when we read it with wrong intentions IMO.
