Having Clinton's people accuse Starr's people of leaking information, and having the justice department immediately leap on it seems sort of opportune. From the reporting that was going on at the time, it sounded just as likely that the White House was leaking the information, and they stood to gain far more. Clinton's side has spent most of their energy trying this case in the court of public opinion, so this would fit their MO. Of course, you may have already convicted Starr, and are not willing to give him the same benefit of the doubt you would want given to Clinton. Clinton has been proven by his own admission (on more than one occaision) to be a liar. Starr has proven to be a man of honor and conviction, which is what got him appointed to the Independent Counsel position in the first place. Why would you trust Clinton's version of events over Starr's?
