To the thread, how about a little speculation? If there is a G-7 deal to help Russia in the next week, any predictions on how much VIP, ROS, and TBH/TBR will increase? I have no specific info -- just a feeling. Clinton is visiting Moscow on 9/1-9/3 and I just can't see the US/G-7 letting Russia fail. Maybe a deal with the Communists/Duma to have Yeltsin resign in exchange for strong economic/tax reforms. I've read estimates that the Western countries have saved about $1 trillion to date due to the end of the Cold War, e.g, reduced military spending, collapsed commodity/oil prices due to the extra supply from ex-Communist areas, etc. (also posted on Russia thread)
