how can Apple claim that the IMac is faster
than the faster Pentium????

You're right... that is rather rude. Let's just say from now on that Pentiums are "special".

Otherwise, Pentiums still score higher in the "bigger" and "hotter" catagories -- and two out of three ain't bad.

Kealoha - Re: " how can Apple claim that the IMac is faster than the faster Pentium????"

Apple figured out some weird benchmark - co developed with Byte magazine - in which the PowerPC chip can do some thing faster than a Pentium II.

They merely couch that with "much faster" marketing hype and pump it.

But hype only goes so far.

The iMac will have to sell on its own merits.
