Pigboy,

FC is really capable of being either "SCSI-like" or "firewire-like". FC is more (my understanding anyway) a capbaling and electrical interface specification, rather than a protocol (which is what SCSI and Firewire are).

Firewire will be everywhere. It is as smart as SCSI and as fast, but as cheap as IDE. There will be no real distinction between desktop and server drives by that point in time. The only difference will be speed and size.. but there won't be a big limiting factor like the IDE vs. SCSI thing that now exists.
