For the second session, Intel Corp. was the most actively traded options
class in the market. The chip maker's stock is showing signs of reclaiming its
position as a market-leading stock and that has traders using call options to
ride the stock's anticipated trajectory. With the stock up 2 3/8 at 91 15/16,
major players were active in the August 90 call, which gained 1 1/4 to 2 1/2
on volume of 24,351 contracts, compared with open interest of 31,577
contracts. One firm traded 12,000 of the contracts. Overall, 89,043 Intel
options traded, up from total volume of 60,602 contracts in Monday's
session.
