Just to set the record straight.

Cisco for Q498: Net income 523M on sales of $2.4B
Cisco for FY1998: Net income $1.9B on sales of $8.5B

DELL for Q299: Net income 346M on sales of $4.3B
DELL for first half 99: Net income of 650M on sales of $8.2B

You can do the margin math yourself. Looks like sales for Dell are up 10% quarter on quarter (Q1 to Q2) and income is up 14%. Nice numbers without a doubt. Cisco's sales were also up 10% quarter on quarter and income was up 8%...also not bad. Looks like two great companies to me. I think at this pace it'll take DELL about 100 years to be able to buy CSCO. One factor that needs to be evaluated however will be potential market growth and competition as well as current stock valuations. But, I don't have time for that analysis now.
